Great news: mWAR paper has been accepted by Journal of Sport Analytics!
Will make second site paper (other being Fielding After Baseball’s Great Transformation) to be published.
There have been others still in draft, including earlier ones on pitcher ball-in-play propensities and park factors, but I have concluded that those still need critical attention before submission. The good thing about putting something perplexing aside and moving onto other things is that you often can return to it a lot smarter.
I suspect, though, the next paper to be submitted will be Against Pythagorean Benchmarking. A spinoff of the original “Monkey Manager” paper, I feel like I’ve answered with all the questions that I had; when that happens, it’s time to share with others, so they can figure out the ones that inevitably remain!
